Dear Parent,

Due to the ongoing industrial action by Southern Rail and the planned 5 day strike from 9th January, we are investigating the possibility of running a replacement coach service. Two routes are being considered: Ashford and all stations to Rye, and St Leonards-Hastings-Ore-Rye.

If you would be interested in the replacement service, please reply to the parent text or email Miss Bayley at mbayley@ryecollege.co.uk indicating which route you require ( 'A' for Ashford or 'H' for Hastings) and the number of spaces. We are unable to confirm the cost at the current time however we are seeking to match the train fare costs.

If you are interested, please respond by 2:00pm on Thursday 5th January.

Please note that at the current time we are unable to guarantee that we will be able to provide the service, but will keep you updated. We appreciate the efforts made by parents to date to ensure that students are attending school.

We can confirm that two buses have been booked for Tuesday 10th, Wednesday 11th and Friday 13th January from Ashford and Hastings and that, if you have already contacted us indicating your interest in the replacement services, your spaces are secured on your preferred routes. More spaces are still available on both routes.

The ticket cost is £4 per day from Ashford International, and £3 per day from all other stations. Tickets must be purchased in advance from Student Reception on Monday 9th January.
