Year 10 College Taster Days

Taster days play an important role in post‑16 planning, giving students the opportunity to visit college campuses, meet staff and experience sample lessons. Although college may feel some way off, preparation begins early in Year 11, and exploring options at this stage is highly beneficial.

East Sussex College Group (ESCG)

As Rye College falls within the Hastings catchment area, students have been allocated a full taster day at the Hastings campus on Tuesday 30th June. This is the only ESCG Hastings taster day available to Rye College students.

Students must book their place directly via the ESCG website.

Although no specific taster days have been allocated for the Lewes or Eastbourne campuses, families may arrange independent tours if they wish. ESCG has confirmed that taster day content is broadly similar across all campuses, meaning the Hastings visit will provide a representative experience.

Students will register for either:

  • Station Plaza – A‑Levels and vocational courses including Art & Design, Beauty, Business, Hair, Health & Social Care, Hospitality & Catering, Public Services, Sport and Travel.
  • Ore Valley – Construction, Engineering, IT & Computing, and Music.

Bexhill College

Students have also been allocated a full taster day at Bexhill College on Monday 13th July.

Places must be booked directly via the Bexhill College website, where students can also view the prospectus and register for the event.
