Year 7 Geography students had a very successful trip to Bedgebury Pinetum. 86 students visited the forest over 2 very cold days! Whilst there students built shelters out of wood and material found in the forest. These were then rigorously tested to see if they were structurally sound and water proof. Then students took part in team building activities which tested their communication and problem solving skills. In the afternoon students were able to roam the Pinetum during an orienteering activity testing their map reading skills. The trip complements the year 7 Geography syllabus. In term 1 students learnt a variety of map skills and in term 2 students are studying ecosystems which includes, rain, coniferous and deciduous forests. The students had a great time at the Pinetum and were a credit to the school.
