On Tuesday 26th April a group of year 7 and year 8 participated in the Shakespeare workshop led by Mrs Leech and Mrs Potter.

During the morning students developed a performance based on themes in Shakespeare's plays. The journey through Shakespeare's iconic works also blended various performance techniques, so that students were switching between movement led sections or language sections.

In the afternoon the students performed their piece. This moved from "all the worlds a stage" through the usurping of the king in the history plays, the prologue from "Romeo and Juliet", the battle and witches scene of "Macbeth", the twins in a"A comedy of errors" and the words of Caliban in "The Tempest", to finish with "Such stuff as dreams are made on" from "Puck".

The co-operation, creative ideas, concentration and energy from the students led to a highly successful day resulting in a polished and well received performance. It is hoped that we will be able to repeat similar workshops- watch this space!
